私が、こどもたちに贈りたい言葉です。


なにか困難ことにであったときに、

自分の心の中をよくない感情でいっぱいにしたり、自暴自棄になってしまったりしても、

いつまでもそこにいないで、

通りにはいつも陽の当たる側と、建物の陰になって陽のあたらない側とがあるから

日の当たる側を歩いて行きなさい、と。

通りにはいつも陽の当たる側と、建物の陰になって陽のあたらない側とがあって、自分は
ずっと陽の当らない側ばかり歩いて来たけれど、これからは陽の当たる側を歩いて行こう、
という歌です。アメリカが不景気のどん底にあった、1930年の曲です。
